Your Rights Under Colorado Law
C.R.S. 10-4-120 - Right to Choose Repair Facility
You have the absolute right to choose ANY licensed repair facility. Insurance companies CANNOT require you to use their network shop, refuse coverage if you choose an independent shop, or misrepresent Colorado law to pressure you.
C.R.S. 10-3-1104 - Unfair Claims Practices
Insurers must handle claims with reasonable promptness. Delays, misrepresentations, and steering tactics may violate Colorado's Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act.
Diminished Value Recovery
Colorado recognizes diminished value claims for third-party claimants. Even with perfect repairs, your vehicle loses value due to accident history. You're entitled to compensation for this loss.
